Tree farm for sale: overview

Florida-based lucrative tree farm sitting on 100+ acres of land is offered for sale. This is a very successful business of selling trees at wholesale prices to commercial customers, tree brokers, developers, prime contractors, and garden centers for over 30 years. With low overheads, extensive capabilities, and a fully operational system of planting, growing, and selling trees, this business for sale enjoys high margins.

The trees start as 6” seedlings planted in a 3-gallon on-ground container. Then, depending on its growth cycle, the seedlings are moved into 15, 30, 45, or 65-gallon containers. Seedling containers are placed in rows according to species and are watered and fertilized by a machine-driven drip and fertilization system. It puts together the necessary amount of liquid fertilizer with well water, taking care of each tree to reach its maximum growth potential. All processes are controlled by automatized clocks that sharply monitor the output of the mix to the tress.

Inventory:

In general, the highest demand is for trees that reached 1.5 – 2 years. The business has licenses to ship products across Southeast, Texas, and Louisiana. Stock is counted by employees and is then posted on the website selected by species, size, and price.

Property:

The sellers own all the property which is included in the sale.

Market:

The demand for trees grows throughout the southeast significantly. There is some competition in the market. However, from time to time the competitors call upon this company to fulfill orders when they have a shortage of inventory.

Reason for sale:

Current owners want to step back after many years in business. However, they are keen that any incoming owner would benefit from an assisted handover.
