Demands for FX permission in Cyprus

All business-companies that want to receive a Forex Lyceum in Cyprus must meet the next demands:

  • Offer a straightforward business plan for 3 years in advancement;
  • Find local and global auditors and arrange with the controller on using, risk administration and AML instructions, identify risks and assign compliance officers;
  • After opening a firm in the country, the capital should only be in first-tier banks or large European banks. Capital requires a separate account;
  • Have a registered office in Cyprus;
  • The leader of the firm must have a monetary education and have some knowledge working with finances;
  • Together with the papers, a brief description of the company’s activities must be provided;
  • Conditions regarding the size of the authorized fund must be met (depending on the type of license):
    • at least 125,000 euros for an STP permission;
    • a minimum of 730,000 euros for Market Maker.

It is important to note that after acquiring a Cyprus Forex license(CySEC) for FX actions, the licensee must prepare and submit monetary statements.

Papers needed for Forex license Cyprus

On the island, you must provide a certain set of papers separately to the bank and to the local regulatory body

  1. The package of papers for the bank consists of:
  • A notarized copy of a valid passport.
  • A copy of proof of residential address.
  • A notarized copy of the recommendation letter from the bank.
  1. The package of papers for the regulator consists of:
  • A business plan;
  • Monetary forecast for the next 36 months;
  • Using manual;
  • AML, Risk administrations and compliance guide;
  • Questionnaire for each sharer and manager;
  • Certification of no criminal record and certification of scarcity of insolvency for each shareholder and each employee.

Process of achieving a Forex broker license in Cyprus

If you divide the process of acquiring a Cyprus Forex permission into stages, the procedure of getting it will be approximately as follows:

  1. Registration of an asset business-company in Cyprus;
  2. Issuance of a common bank account with fund deposit;
  3. Collection and submission of needed papers to CySec;
  4. Obtaining a permission within 6 months from the date of submission of papers while fulfilling all mandatory and further demands.

Also, the brokerage firm will need to wait about six months from the practice of the request to obtaining the permission. At the same time, the term can be significantly longer – up to 12 months, depending on a number of factors.
